Operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) have dismantled an alleged arms supply network linked to attacks in Plateau State and surrounding regions, arresting a suspected weapons manufacturer.
The suspect, identified as Musa Abubakar, was arrested on November 12, 2025, after actionable intelligence led operatives to his workshop in the Mista Ali area of Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
In a statement on Sunday, the DSS said Abubakar had allegedly been producing and distributing high-caliber weapons and ammunition to armed groups responsible for violent attacks in Plateau and other northern states. The agency added that components of improvised explosive devices, chemicals and various equipment were recovered from the workshop during the raid.
According to the service, the suspect confessed to supplying weapons to criminal groups operating across the northern region. His arrest, it said, was the result of precise intelligence that enabled a targeted raid on his clandestine manufacturing site.
The operation comes just days after the DSS announced the re-arrest of Abdulazeez Obadaki, also known as Bomboy, a Kuje Prison escapee linked to the Owo and Deeper Life Church attacks. The agency had also earlier confirmed the arrest of nine additional suspects, including 46-year-old Timna Manjol, as part of its ongoing efforts to curb insecurity in the region.
