The wife of a village head in Amantu community, Ayu Chiefdom of Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State, has been successfully rescued following a kidnapping incident, SUNTV Global Channel can authoritatively report.
The victim, identified as the wife of the Amantu village head, Usman Danjuma, popularly known as Danbala, was abducted on Sunday evening alongside her two-year-old daughter. The child was also recovered unharmed.
According to information gathered by SUNTV Global Channel, the rescue operation was carried out through the combined efforts of local security agencies and vigilant community members, who swiftly mobilised after the incident was reported.
The abduction occurred at about 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, shortly after reports emerged that two other individuals — a man and a woman — were kidnapped in Fadan Karshi, Gwantu Chiefdom, also within Sanga Local Government Area.
Communities across the LGA were immediately placed on alert, leading to coordinated search and tracking efforts throughout the night.
By 8:45 a.m. on Monday, the wife of the village head and her daughter were reunited with their family, bringing relief to residents of Amantu community.
“The wife of the village head of Amantu, Usman Danjuma, also known as Danbala, was reunited with her family around 8:45 a.m. today. Sadly, the two kidnapped victims from Karshi are still nowhere to be found,” a community source disclosed.
Sources further confirmed that the successful rescue was largely due to voluntary action by local residents, who worked closely with security personnel to track the kidnappers’ movements and secure the release of the victims.
However, concern remains high as the two victims abducted in Fadan Karshi are still missing. Security agencies have since intensified search and rescue operations to locate and free them.
SUNTV Global Channel will continue to monitor developments and bring updates as efforts to rescue the remaining victims continue.
