U.S. President Donald Trump has stirred controversy with a combative Christmas Day message in which he sharply attacked Democrats, branding them “Radical Left Scum,” while touting what he described as major economic, security, and policy achievements under his administration.
In a post shared on X to mark the Christmas holiday, Trump opened with a seasonal greeting before launching into a political broadside. “Merry Christmas to all, including the Radical Left Scum that is doing everything possible to destroy our Country, but are failing badly,” the president wrote.
Trump claimed his administration had reversed several policies associated with previous governments, asserting that the United States no longer has “Open Borders,” “Men in Women’s Sports,” “Transgender for Everyone,” or “Weak Law Enforcement.”
He went on to highlight what he described as strong economic performance, pointing to a “record stock market and 401Ks,” “the lowest crime numbers in decades,” “no inflation,” and a reported 4.3 percent GDP growth rate, which he said exceeded expectations.
The president also credited his trade agenda for what he called unprecedented gains. According to Trump, tariffs have generated “trillions of dollars in growth and prosperity” while strengthening U.S. national security. He added that America has regained international respect “perhaps like never before.”

Trump ended his Christmas message with a patriotic sign-off: “God Bless America!!! President DJT.”
The holiday post follows a recent year-end national address by Trump—an approach he did not adopt during his first term—in which he again took aim at the previous administration. In that speech, Trump blamed former President Joe Biden for inflation and immigration challenges, saying he had “inherited a mess” and was working to fix it.
He accused Democrats of allowing what he described as an “open border,” claiming millions of migrants had entered the country, and alleged that the situation had led to widespread “mayhem.” Trump also asserted that the U.S. is experiencing a “reverse migration” for the first time in five decades.
Additionally, the president repeated claims that his administration had helped resolve eight wars within ten months, a statement he has cited in public appearances while openly advocating for recognition, including a Nobel Peace Prize.
As with many of Trump’s statements, the Christmas message has drawn strong reactions across political lines, reinforcing his continued use of sharp rhetoric even during traditionally unifying moments.
