The National Vice President (External Affairs) of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Sadiq SK Zango, has urged Nigerian students to embrace innovation, entrepreneurship, digital transformation, and leadership development as essential tools for success in today’s rapidly evolving global economy.
Speaking in his first public message following his inauguration, Comrade Zango emphasized that the future belongs to young people who combine academic excellence with practical skills, creativity, ethical leadership, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
According to him, Nigerian students possess enormous talent and potential, noting that the responsibility of the current generation goes beyond earning academic qualifications to becoming innovators, problem-solvers, and leaders capable of contributing to national development and global progress.
“Our generation must not only seek education; we must pursue excellence, innovation, and leadership that creates lasting value for society,” he said.
The NANS Vice President disclosed that his office would prioritise strategic partnerships aimed at expanding opportunities for Nigerian students through scholarships, innovation programmes, leadership fellowships, entrepreneurship initiatives, research collaborations, and international academic engagements.
He also encouraged students across tertiary institutions in the country to remain focused on their studies, uphold the rule of law, and conduct themselves as worthy ambassadors of Nigeria.
Comrade Zango reaffirmed the commitment of the 2026 National Leadership of NANS to implementing initiatives that will empower students beyond the classroom, strengthen leadership capacity, and prepare them to compete effectively on the global stage.
