At least seven people were killed and 24 others injured following overnight Ukrainian drone strikes on Russia’s Tambov region and the Moscow area, according to Russian authorities.
Regional Governor Evgeny Pervyshov said the attack struck a Wildberries logistics centre in the town of Kotovsk during the night shift, killing seven employees and leaving dozens of others injured.
Wildberries, one of Russia’s largest e-commerce and logistics companies, confirmed that its facilities in Kotovsk and Elektrostal in the Moscow region were targeted. The company said emergency services responded to the incidents, while firefighters worked to contain the resulting fires.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin also reported that Russian air defence systems intercepted dozens of drones launched toward the capital overnight. According to the mayor, more than 370 drones were detected across the Moscow region, with 64 reportedly destroyed before reaching the city.
The latest strikes mark another escalation in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as both sides continue to intensify long-range aerial attacks.
Ukrainian officials have previously described such operations as responses to continued Russian missile and drone strikes on Ukrainian territory. However, Kyiv had not officially commented on the reported overnight attacks at the time of this report.
The renewed wave of drone attacks comes amid stalled international diplomatic efforts to end the conflict, with fighting continuing across multiple fronts.
